Willian has revealed what he said to Gonzalo Higuain as the duo spoke before the Brazilian converted a penalty to put Chelsea 1-0 up against Sheffield Wednesday.

It looked as if Higuain was going to take the spot kick before Willian took the ball and struck past Owls keeper Keiren Westwood.

Willian was designated to take the penalty but revealed he tried to offer it to Higuain so the Chelsea debutant could get off the mark for his new club.

But the Argentine refused and Willian coolly stroked into the back of the net.

After the game, he said: "I want to give him the ball. I wanted him to score the first goal today. But it will come soon."

Wednesday had been denied a penalty of their own just a couple of minutes before after Andre Marriner had pointed to the spot.

Barry Bannan was set to take but VAR intervened to give the Blues a reprieve.

Chelsea went in to the break with a one-goal advantage and a strike from Callum Hudson-Odoi and a second from Willian sealed a 3-0 win and their place in the fifth round.
