The Michigan Wolverines track program took part in the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Sunday, and an incredible comeback on the women’s 4×400 meter relay race has gone viral on social media.

Michigan’s Sophie Isom began the first leg of the race and was doing well until she caught the heel of a competitor, causing her to take a hard fall leading to her getting passed and falling far behind.

Despite taking the hard fall, Isom continued on and fought through the fall to finish her leg and, giving her teammates a chance at a comeback.

Michigan sophomore runner Savannah Sutherland then received the baton from Isom and did an excellent job of making up time, catching up, and getting all the way into second place.

She then passed the baton to Aurora Rynda, who proceeded to catch all the way up to Ohio State runner Janela Spencer and overtake her in first place.

Michigan junior Ziyah Holman completed the unbelievable comeback by sustaining the lead given to her and giving the Wolverines first place in the event.

Many around the sports world took to social media after seeing this incredible act of perseverance from Michigan’s team and offered praise for coming all the way back to win.

The Michigan Wolverines ultimately closed with an eight-second win in the event, beating out Ohio State, Michigan State, and Purdue in the process.

This incredible comeback from the Wolverines is a reminder that no matter how bleak things look, getting back up and trying your best can result in some truly spectacular things.
