Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has toasted his three years in charge with a "we are the people" message for fans - and it was liked by Fashion Sakala.

The Zambian striker is set to sign on a pre-contract deal and showed his support for his likely future boss.

The Liverpool legend was appointed as manager on May 4 of 2018 and faced a monumental task.

Brendan Rodgers' Celtic were domestically dominant, sweeping all before them as they hoovered up the trophies.

The Parkhead club went on to win four trebles in a row but Gerrard turned the tables this season.

Rangers wrapped up the Premiership title by March to prevent their arch-rivals from doing 10 In A Row and are undefeated against them in five games this term.

The anniversary gave Gerrard the perfect chance to reflect and he posted a picture from his presentation.

Alongside it he wrote: "OTD 2018 the journey begun (sic). WATP."

Though the Rangers boss is toasting success this term he's already looking ahead to trying to retain the title.

Gerrard told Sky Sports: "I want to come back in pre-season with a fair chance of being successful. That’s all I ask for and hopefully the board will support me in that and we go again.

"I’m still as hungry and ambitious as I was when I walked in on the first day. I’m as ambitious as anyone connected to this club."

And Sakala dropped a major hint that he'll be the first of the reinforcements as he liked the post.
