Will County State's Attorney's Office League of Extraordinary Canines

Learn how Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow's "League of Extraordinary Canines" : 1.) Comfort abused children at the Will County Children's Advocacy Center 2.) Ease courtroom tensions for defendants in Problem Solving Courts 3.) Sniff out hidden electronics devices used by predators to store digital child pornography that they have traded or produced. State's Attorney Glasgow made serving the needs of crime victims -- especially vulnerable children who have been sexually abused or exploited -- a high priority when he created Paws-4-Kids as a pet therapy program designed to comfort abused children who come to the Will County Children’s Advocacy Center for a forensic interview. When children and their families arrive at the CAC, they have the opportunity to be greeted by one of three dogs: Kiwi, Jackson, and Malley. Studies have shown that these gentle therapy dogs ease and comfort children, and the children, in turn, provide a more thorough and detailed description of the traumatic events that necessitated their interview.
