Are smartphones causing more pedestrian deaths?

A new report says that more than 6,200 pedestrians were killed on U.S. roads in 2018, the highest number of deaths in almost 30 years. A possible contributing factor is the smartphone, which can distract both drivers and walkers. NBC’s Kerry Sanders reports for TODAY.
