Two Palestinians shot dead in violent clashes with Israeli forces

Two Palestinians died in a shooting carried out by Israeli forces in the West Bank, the Israeli military confirmed. Raed Hamdan, 21, and Zaid Nouri, 20, died after being shot last night (March 19) by Israeli troops near the Joseph Tomb’s religious site close of the city of Nablus. Israeli forces prevented emergency services from reaching the site, and fired on an ambulance, local media reported. The Israeli army said in a statement that explosives were hurled from a vehicle as Jewish worshippers visited the site late on Tuesday and "troops responded with live fire towards the vehicle”. Violent clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli forces after the deadly shooting. Footage shows barricades set on fire across a road by Palestinian protesters early this morning (March 20). A crowd of Palestinian protesters can be seen running away from the scene as Israeli forces’ vehicles advance.
