He could be described as the agony aunt of our airwaves but when people have an issue they generally talk to Joe Duffy.

Liveline is one of RTÉ's longest running programs and has always drawn in numbers -from politics to family issues no topic is too big.

The show has been a way for people to vent their opinions but one conversation on Wednesday split people down the middle.

Pat Lambe joined Joe to chat about a picture on his work van that is getting a lot of attention, with some people saying it is sexist.

Dressed in pants and just a denim shirt tied up at the front, it shows a young girl hanging out the washing.

Many listeners believed this to be sexist, however Pat, who runs business Clotheslines, disagreed and told Joe all about it.

'It's a lovely sunny day. She has her clothes line she's hanging clothes on. She has a light top on her and a pair of swimming shorts. A nice smile on her, a good lucking young lady as most of them are in advertisement,' he said.

Saying that he's 'in no ways sexist' and 'all her essential parts are covered', Pat added that he 'was actually looking to get a young gentleman to put on the other door of the van'.

He went on to tell Joe that the ad is 'just a bit of craic' and that he gets '99 per cent' of his calls after people see the van's picture.

One listener called in to say they weren't offended by the picture. The caller, named Pamela, said: 'We're getting very serious.. it's a laugh. It's her own garden let her do what she's doing. She's not upsetting anyone.'

And as you can imagine people also took to Twitter to give their opinions, causing the conversation to start trending online.
