Style Secrets: This celeb stylist boot hack makes knee-high boots easier to get on

Nancy Sinatra famously sang about boots that were made for walking but we all know how tricky a new pair can be to navigate.

A-listers make walking the red carpet look easy but there are some handy tips that we normal folk can glean from them and that extends to the arena of stubborn-to-pull-on boots.

We are hurtling towards boots season now and if you are finding it tricky to slip into a brand new pair then heed the note of celebrity stylist Toni Ferrera, who has worked with the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Kate Beckinsale.

The stylist to the stars swears by an item that many of us will easily have to hand at home when it comes to slipping into a restrictive pair of knee-high or over-the-knee boots.

Celebrity stylists have admitted to having Eucerin’s Aquaphor in their kits which is a gentle healing balm which makes it easier to slide heels into shoes and is available in Boots for €11.

Or… you could just grab a plastic bags ladies! The celebrity stylist told Style Caster that plastic bags are a red carpet style hack that she has used to get her A-list clients into their boots with ease.

‘For premieres where we didn’t have wear gowns and a client wore knee-high boots, we used plastic bags to get her foot to fit in the boot.’

‘Enough to walk the red carpet and have her photographed,’ she continued. That’s because the plastic will cause less friction and will let your foot go on and slide all in.

Now, we don’t know how uncomfortable this boots hack would be and how it would feel to walk for hours on end with plastic bags wrapped around your feet, but it’s well worth an investigation for shorter wears, no?
