Daniel Craig has been injured on the set of the new James Bond movie.

The actor, 51, will need surgery after he injured his ankle while filming for the latest addition to the spy thriller franchise.

Following surgery, Craig will be off his feet for two weeks of rehabilitation.

Bosses have said that his injury will not delay the film’s scheduled release date of April 2020.

A tweet on the official James Bond account read: ‘Daniel Craig will be undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained during filming in Jamaica.

‘Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.’

Daniel is known for his insistence to perform his own stunts in previous James Bond films.

The official name for the 25th Bond film has still to be announced, but speculation online suggests it could be Shatterhand.

Rami Malek has been confirmed as the villain for the movie, following his meteoric rise and Oscar win for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.
