Hollywood superstar Leonardo DiCaprio and his boat crew are being as hailed heroes of the Caribbean after they rescued a drowning man out of the sea.

The Titanic heart-throb was holidaying in St. Barts on his luxury yacht with girlfriend Camila Morrone, 22, when the near-tragedy interrupted proceedings.

After receiving a mayday call that a man had fallen from a Club Med cruise vessel, DiCaprio and his yacht companions reportedly sprung into action to join in the search.

Leo is best known for his roles in movies such as The Aviator, Wolf of Wall Street and Oscar-winning The Revenant, as well as his environmental activism.

However, the star and his friends will now surely be regarded as real-life superheroes after they found the stranded man, who had miraculously been treading water for 11 hours.

‘Leonardo played a blinding role in his own real-life Hollywood movie. He saved the life of a man overboard who incredibly had survived by treading water for 11 hours. Leonardo’s boat was the only vessel looking for him,’ a source told The Sun

The man’s chances of survival were put at one in a billion, the source said, given that the light was dimming and a storm was fast approaching.

The incredible rescue happened just days before DiCaprio turned out for the glitz and glamour of the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles.

Nominated for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, the 45-year-old was ribbed by host Ricky Gervais over his habit of dating women in their early 20s.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is nearly three hours long,’ Gervais said. ‘Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere and by the end, his date was too old for him.’

Perhaps Leo should have talked up his rescue exploits to spare his blushes?
