A range of popular pesto products sold in Irish supermarkets is being recalled over the possible presence of salmonella.

Galmere Foods is recalling its Pestle and Mortar Green Pesto and Sundried Tomato Pesto. And Lidl is recalling its Meadow Fresh Green Pesto.

All batches of the product's 140gram sized pack are subject to the recall. Point of sale notices will be displayed in Tesco and Lidl stores.

Messages from the Food Safety Authority said: "As a precaution, Lidl is recalling its Meadow Fresh Green Pesto due to possible presence of Salmonella .

"Point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in Lidl stores.

Tesco recalls batch of almonds due to the presence of Salmonella

"As a precaution, Galmere Foods is recalling its Pestle and Mortar Green Pesto and Sundried Tomato Pesto due to possible presence of Salmonella."
