We are fascinated by the Royal Family, whether it’s getting a glimpse at their gilded, goldfish bowl lifestyle or gossiping about their love lives, we’re transfixed by almost every move they make.
They’re also a bunch of eloquent public speakers and — in some cases — canny business minds but gas? Not so much…
Camilla, Prince Charles’ wife, tried to show off her funny side recently with an off-the-cuff quip about coronavirus.

During a visit to the London Transport Museum, the Duchess of Cornwall stepped into an old air raid shelter for a few moments, and said: ‘I’m self-isolating’.
On the very same day, over at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin, Prince William joked about coronavirus during a reception hosted by the British ambassador to Ireland, Robin Barnett.

‘By the way, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are spreading coronavirus, sorry,’ he quipped. ‘We’re keeping an eye on that, so do tell us if we need to stop.’
William also spoke to advance paramedic Joe Mooney, of the National Ambulance Service, and said: ‘I bet everyone’s like “I’ve got coronavirus, I’m dying,” and you’re like “No, you’ve just got a cough.”

Not only did Camilla wear gloves during her London visit, the Queen also wore gloves for recent investitures at Buckingham Palace; for what is believed to be the first time.
Ireland has six confirmed cases of coronavirus, after four were recently identified in the west of the country, while the total number of cases to date on the island of Ireland has reached nine.
