An Irish mother of two has died in a ‘tragic accident’ in California, friends have said.

Geraldine Barry, 55, who’s originally from Cashel, Co Tipperary had been living in the Californian city of San Jose, died on May 15.

Mrs Barry is thought to have recently returned to work after a hiatus period by working with an organisation that helps people deal with the grief of losing someone.

The Cashel woman founded and served as President of the San Jose Real Estate Investors Association (SJREI).

Realityexpo411 will dedicate every remaining event in their calendar to the ‘memory and legacy’ of Geraldine Barry.

They said: “Geraldine Barry passed away in an accident in San Jose, California, on May 15, 2019. We are in the depth of sorrow as we mourn the loss of one of the most dynamic, intelligent and gifted women in the Real Estate Investment Industry.’

It continued: ‘Geraldine was an outgoing, ebullient person with excellent communication skills who came to the United States from Ireland with a single suitcase and $500 dollars in her pocket.

‘After a hiatus from work, she was enthusiastically beginning a new job that seemed perfect for her, ironically, working with a Catholic organisation helping people who were dealing with grief because of the death of a loved one.’
