Tamil Nadu: 17th state-level sports competition for the differently-abled held

The one-day sports event was conducted by Tamil Nadu Differently Abled Federation Charitable Trust which began conducting the annual games in 2001. The charitable trust conducts district-level competitions every year and picks its winners to take part in the state-level competitions. The competition features 48 different types of sports for participants aged in three age categories – (1-12 years), (12-18 years) and (above 18 years). Teams representing each of the 32 districts of Tamil Nadu took part in various sports events such as kabaddi, wheelchair basketball, volleyball for the partially blind and special games for the mentally-challenged and partially-blind, precision ball sport for people with severe physical disabilities and special events for people who have recovered from leprosy.
