The story behind Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You'
Is it even the holiday season if Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' isn't ringing out from radios, in-store speakers, and just about everywhere else? The subject of countless memes, Mariah's holiday smash hit is the most popular Christmas song ever, and the diva enthusiastically embraces its timeless appeal each year, and this year is no exception.
In 2022, she celebrated the approach of the big day with a two-hour holiday special held at Madison Square Garden in New York. The festive concert, which was also aired on CBS, featured a medley of holiday hits performed by the Queen of Christmas herself, as well as appearances from famous friends like Drew Barrymore, Billy Porter, Jermaine Dupri, and Slick Rick. Carey even brought her 11-year-old daughter Monroe, whom she shares with Nick Cannon, on stage. The mother and daughter sang the classic Christmas carol 'Away in a Manger' together in matching dresses. Carey cycled through four fabulous festive outfits, including a fitted red fishtail gown and a glittering silver mini-dress. She really knows how to ring in the holidays in style!
