Kartik Aaryan, who is currently basking in the success of his last release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, is counted among the most loved young stars in Bollywood.

Currently busy with his upcoming projects, the actor took out time from his hectic schedule and spent a whole day with the Indian Navy to celebrate the 75th Independence Day.

Several pictures and videos from Kartik’s Independence Day celebration with the Indian Navy are doing the rounds on social media since yesterday (August 15). However, looks like a section of social media users aren’t happy with it.

Lieutenant General Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon, a retired General Officer of the Indian Army, is upset with the actor for his ‘casual’ approach during the celebration.

Taking to Twitter, he slammed Kartik for his attire and ‘improper salute’ and wrote, “This extremely casual attire and an improper salute by this actor … We can highly do without. When you are on parade, you are on parade, even as a witness. Please maintain the required decorum @indiannavy & @ndtv Jai Hind.”

Other social media users too agreed with Dhillon and criticized Kartik in the comments section. Reacting to it, a user tweeted, “He thought he was looking cool!”

Another Twitter user wrote, “Simple SOP that the CO or Adjutant (Naval Equivalent) could have done is to go through ALL the 'TouchPoints' of Dress Code, Taking the Salute and the Ceremonial etiquette etc with the Guest… Would barely take 15 minutes. These are just Basics!"

A third comment read, “Totally agree with your sir.”

Here are the reactions:

We wonder how Kartik would react to it.

On the career front, the actor will next be seen in Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada.

Directed by Rohit Dhawan, the most-awaited film is the remake of Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and features Kriti Sanon as the leading lady. It is slated to hit the theatres next year, on February 10.

His lineup also includes Satyaprem Ki Katha with Kiara Advani, Freddy, Kabir Khan’s untitled project, and Hansal Mehta’s Captain India.
