Xiaomi is really pushing for a share of the premium smartphone market and its upcoming flagship could set new standards. The Chinese smartphone maker had earlier this year launched the Mi 11 Ultra and Mi Mix Fold as its high-end smartphones and is believed to be working on another flagship which is tipped to come with UWB (Ultra-wide band) tracking technology and an under-display selfie camera.

According to the leaker Digital Chat Station, Xiaomi is working on another smartphone that can match or better the Mi 11 Ultra. UWB has already featured on both Apple and Samsung's latest flagship devices. This technology is used by Samsung SmartTag and Apple AirTag to track the Samsung Galaxy S21 and Apple iPhone 12.

If Xiaomi adds the UWB technology to its smartphones, it is also expected to introduce accessories that is compatible with it. So, don't be surprised if we have an affordable alternate to the Samsung SmartTag and Apple AirTag.

The other major upgrade on the Xiaomi flagship could be the presence of an under-display selfie camera. A lot of smartphone makers have teased this tech but, it is yet to appear on commercial devices. That is because an under-display camera is still not considered ideal due to the limitation of light that can possibly pass through a panel.

There are also reports suggesting that the upcoming Xiaomi flagship smartphone will have equally impressive, if not better, camera setup as the Mi 11 Ultra. Xiaomi may equip the phone with a large sensor to achieve same level of camera performance. The new Xiaomi smartphone is also expected to feature company's 120W wired fast-charging with support for 70W fast-wireless charging.

It's worth mentioning that Mi 11 Ultra was also launched in India on April 23 but hasn't gone on sale since then. In fact, the company has indefinitely postponed the sale. So, it will be interesting to see if launches another flagship smartphone in India or not.
