  • Asus has launched the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED laptop in India.
  • The laptop is priced starting at ₹59,990 and is available in two variants.
  • Here’s my review of the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED that will help you decide whether you should buy the laptop or not.
Asus recently launched the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED, the company’s latest mid-range offering in India. The device was launched along with the ZenBook S 13 OLED.

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is feature-packed and the top-end variant comes with Ryzen 7 5800H chipset, 16GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB PCIe 3.0 SSD and AMD Radeon graphics. The main highlights of the device include its 2.8K OLED display and its lightweight design.

I received the Ryzen 7 5800H variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD and here’s my review of the latest laptop from Asus.

Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED price and availability

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is priced at ₹59,990 for the Ryzen 5 5600H variant and ₹69,990 for the Ryzen 7 5800H variant that I have reviewed. It comes in two color options – Solar Silver and Cosmos Blue. It is available from Asus India, online retailers and the company’s authorized retail stores across the country.

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED features a minimalistic design and comes with a durable aluminum lid. It features a badge-style Asus Vivobook logo. The device comes in two color options, Solar Silver and Cosmos Blue. I received the Solar Silver color option which comes with a matte finish.

The laptop features a sleek design, weighs 1.4 kg and is 18.9mm thick. It easily fits a regular 14-inch laptop bag, allowing you to carry it around with you without having to purchase a new bag.

It comes with nine vents at the bottom that ensure proper airflow, keeping the temperatures under control. During my usage, I found that laptop temperature stays in control, even during gaming, which is good as it allows you to play a few games without having to worry about the temperature.

The back comes with a matte finish that prevents fingerprint smudges, allowing you to handle it without having to clean fingerprint smudges every time you use it. It also has a Asus VivoBook logo.

Coming to the palm rest area, apart from a few branding and specification stickers that can be easily removed, you only have the Harmon Kardon branding. The chassis is also built using aluminum and gives a good feel.

For connectivity, the Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED features a USB Gen 3.2 Type-A port, two USB Gen 2.0 ports, HDMI 1.4 port, a 3.5mm combo jack and a microSD card reader. You do not get a USB Type-C with the device, which may be an issue for some users.

I liked the design of the device. However, the lack of a USB Type-C port made it harder for me to connect my smartphone to the laptop. If you have a Type-C to Type-C cable like me for your smartphone, you will either have to get a dongle or another cable.

Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED display

Asus has been hitting the nail on the head in terms of display. The display is easily one of the highlights of the device.

The Asus Vivobook Pro 14 OLED features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 16:10 aspect ratio and HDR support. The laptop comes with slim bezels on the side and offers an 85% screen-to-body ratio.

The laptop offers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, ensuring proper colour accuracy. It is TUV Rheinland certified, allowing you to use it for extended hours without straining your eyes.

I found the laptop offers accurate colors and enjoyed watching content on the device. The laptop is capable of restricting most of the blue light, reducing the strain on your eyes, and in my testing, I found that this feature works well.

Coming to the keyboard, the Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED features an edge-to-edge keyboard.

The keyboard is backlit and comes with a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button which allows you to easily unlock the device.

The Enter key comes with a twill-pattern that sets it apart from the other keys.

The device comes with a large trackpad that allows you to easily navigate. Asus has not integrated the number pad in the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED.

I used the device to type a lot of content and found that it offers a good experience. The lack of a number pad in the touchpad made it a bit difficult while typing numbers.

If you are someone who types a lot, you will like the device, however, if you need to use the number keys, the lack of a number pad may trouble you.

Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED performance

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED comes in two variants – one with AMD Ryzen 7 5800H and Ryzen 5 5600H. I used the Ryzen 7 5800H variant with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

The laptop performs well and easily handles whatever task you throw at it. It can easily handle several chrome windows and tabs that are open at once and switching between apps is smooth.

The VivBook Pro 14 OLED comes with Radeon Graphics, which allows you to run games such as PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on low settings without any issues. If you were hoping to play AAA titles or games at high settings, you will be disappointed.

Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED benchmarks

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED fared decently in benchmarks, thanks to its powerful hardware.

The device scored 1373 points on the single-core Geekbench 5 test and 6,695 points on the multi-core test.

In the PCMark 10 test, the VivoBook Pro 14 OLED scored 10,507 in Essentials, 9,101 in Productivity and 6,441 in Digital Content Creation.

Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED battery life

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is equipped with a 50 Whrs battery that offers around 7 to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. I used the laptop to browse social media, played a few YouTube videos and played a few rounds of PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds.

The laptop offers 90W fast charge support, allowing you to fully charge the device in less than 2 hours.

Verdict

The Asus VivoBook Pro 14 OLED is a feature-packed device that comes with decent hardware, a minimalistic design and a vibrant display. The lack of a number pad, a dedicated graphics card and the absence of a USB Type-C port are some of the things that you need to keep in mind.
