Guns Are the Leading Cause of Death in US Children and Teens, Data Shows
According to the CDC Wonder database, close to 19% of kids ages 1-18 were killed by guns in 2021. That is about 3,600 children. According to a KFF analysis, no other peer country has an issue with firearms being among the top four causes of death in children.
