Nick James collected his groceries from a local Tesco Extra in Twickenham and was told by the staff that there was a “surprise” in his bag. Mr James was left stunned after he found a brand new iPhone SE in his bag.

He told the Mirror: “I was half expecting the surprise to be an Easter egg or something - I was a little bit shocked, to say the least.”

Tesco Supermarkets also have a subsidiary business i.e. Tesco Mobile which is giving away free iPhones, AirPods and Samsung devices as a part of a promotional campaign this week. The campaign involves substituting people’s groceries with gadgets and has been aptly called the “super substitutes” promotion.
