As promised, the makers of Adipurush today (January 19) treated their fans to an update about the film. Directed Om Raut took to social media to announce that the motion capture of the film has begun. The muhurat of the film will be held on February 2. Sharing a photo himself with his team of VFX experts, the director made the announcement. Adipurush is based on the life of Lord Ram and stars Prabhas in the titular role. Saif Ali Khan will be seen playing the role of Ravan in the film.

Om Raut, director of Adipurush, shared a picture of himself with his team of VFX experts. In the photo, the director is seen standing right in the middle with his teammates standing adjacent to him, just like a cricket team. Many of them are also seen wearing gears essential for VFX. The director will be using technology that is used in international cinema to give Adipurush visual effects (VFX) of international standards.

Om Raut wrote, "Motion capture begins. Creating the world of #Adipurush (sic)."

Prabhas also shared the picture on his Instagram account.

On Monday (January 18), Prabhas's fans on Twitter were beyond control as they trended #Adipurush ahead of an important announcement regarding the film. The fans got to know about an update about the film and expressed their excitement for the same on the micro-blogging platform. It was announced that the makers were likely to make a massive announcement on January 19 at 7.11am, which prompted the fans to trend #Adipurush.

Ever since Prabhas made an announcement on his 3D film, Adipurush, there have been a lot of expectations around the project.

In August, the Baahubali star took to Instagram to share the first-look poster with the tagline 'Celebrating the victory of good over evil'.

Adipurush is an adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana that revolves around the triumph of good over evil. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Ram is also addressed as Adi Purusha. Prabhas will be seen playing the role of Lord Ram in Adipurush. Saif will play the role of Lankesh, the demon King Ravan, in the film. As far as the female lead Is concerned, there was speculation that Kiara Advani and Keerthy Suresh have been approached for the role. However, Team Adipurush is now planning to rope in Kriti Sanon.

Adipurush will hit screen on August 11, 2022. Sharing a poster of Adipurush, Prabhas announced the release date of the film on Instagram in November last year. He wrote, "#Adipurush in Theatres 11.08.2022 #SaifAliKhan @omraut #BhushanKumar @vfxwaala @rajeshnair29 @tseriesfilms @retrophiles1 @tseries.official #TSeries (sic)."

Prabhas's Adipurush is reportedly being made on a massive budget of Rs 400 crore. According to the latest report, while many filmmakers are trying to reduce their budgets due to coronavirus pandemic, Om Raut has decided to go big with Prabhas. A large part of the money will be spent on VFX, which will be an important part of the film. Adipurush will reportedly be shot entirely using the green mat technology seen in several Hollywood films.

The makers have roped in VFX supervisors of Avatar and Star Wars to work on the graphics of the film. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew will be made soon.
