71st Republic Day: Dhanush gun system, Apache, Chinook helicopters on display for first time

India celebrates its 71st Republic Day today. On this day in 1950, the Constitution of India came into force. The Republic Day parade, which is considered the main attraction of the day’s celebration, concluded at Rajpath. Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro was the chief guest at the parade.

Before the parade began, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute at the National War Memorial and President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the national flag along with General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Chief of the Army Staff, Admiral Karambir Singh, Chief of the Naval Staff, Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff.

Entry/exit gates to the following stations will remain closed for a short period on 26th January 2020. Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan will be closed till 12 pm.
