Andhra Pradesh: Gas leak at Sainor Life Sciences in Visakhapatnam, 2 dead

At least two people died due to gas leakage at Sainor Life Sciences in Visakhapatnam's Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada, Andhra Pradesh. They deceased were said to be present at the leakage site.

The benzimidazole gas leaked at Sainor Life Sciences company in Visakhapatnam. The gas leak tragedy struck in the wee hours of Tuesday.

Four people have been hospitalised in the gas leak incident at Sainor Life Sciences Pvt Ltd. The sick have been taken to RK Hospital in Visakhapatnam where they are undergoing treatment.

Of the four, one is said to be in a critical state, while the three others are out of danger.

The situation is said to be under control now. The benzimidazole gas, which was not much of a danger than styrene, has not spread anywhere.

"Situation under control now. The two persons who died were workers and were present at the leakage site. Gas has not spread anywhere else," Uday Kumar, Inspector, Parwada Police Station, was quoted as saying by a news agency.
