PM Modi receives 2nd dose of Covid vaccine at Delhi AIIMS, urges others to get jab
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday took the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. He had received the first dose of Bharat Biotech's Covaxin on March 1.
Taking to Twitter, PM Modi shared a picture of him taking the second dose of the vaccine and urged all those who are eligible to get vaccinated against Covid-19.
"Got my second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS today. Vaccination is among the few ways we have, to defeat the virus. If you are eligible for the vaccine, get your shot soon. Register on http://CoWin.gov.in," PM Modi tweeted.

Two nurses, P Niveda from Puducherry and Nisha Sharma from Punjab, have administered the second dose of the vaccine to PM Modi.
"I have given the second dose of Covaxin to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. He spoke to us. It was a memorable moment for me as I got to meet him and vaccinate him," Nisha Sharma was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

Covid-19 vaccination drive in India
As a fresh wave of coronavirus forced a sense of urgency in India's vaccination campaign, the Centre allowed administering of shots at workplaces with about 100 eligible beneficiaries from April 11. People above the age of 45 are currently eligible for vaccination.
On Wednesday, the health ministry said over 8.83 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered in the country.

A total of 97,40,281 frontline workers (FLWs) were given the first dose, while 43,35,473 FLWs have received the second dose.
As many as 2,26,42,318 jabs were given to those in the 45-59 age group (first dose), 4,47,060 in the 45-59 age group (second dose), 3,57,78,684 to those above 60 years of age (first dose) and 10,57,785 to those above 60 years of age (second dose).
