This Sunday (June 14), Bollywood lost a young talent in Sushant Singh Rajput, who died by suicide at his Mumbai home. Being an outsider, with no Godfather, the late actor made a name for himself in the industry on his own. While everyone is debating over outsiders being treated well in the industry, Anupam Kher, who worked with Sushant in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, shared his story as an outsider and motivated youngsters to never give up on their dreams.

Anupam Kher shared a video on Instagram in which he talked about his struggles as an outsider and how he was treated when he started his career.

Sharing the video, he wrote, "A message for all the young dreamers who come to the city of Mumbai to make it big. #DontGiveUp #WorkHard #AllDreamsComeTrue (sic)."

The veteran actor started the video by talking about the Kai Po Che actor's death and went on to say, "Sushant's death and the speculations relating to it on social media can make them feel negative about the film industry, but ye industry bohot achche logon se bhari padi hai."

To motivate young people, who come from small towns to Mumbai every year to chase their dreams, Anupam Kher advised them not to feel heartbroken. He added that the loneliness during the lockdown can affect them, but they should talk to their parents and family members and share their thoughts and feelings.

Sharing his experience, when he entered the industry 39 years ago, he said, "I faced many humiliations. People would says, 'ganja hai, kekre jaisa patla hai, Hindi medium school ka hai. Actor banne ke liye baal chahiye, acting toh koi bhi kar sakta hai,' par maine haar nahi maani. Doston, haarna nahi hai, aapne sapno ko beech mai choddna nahi hai, ghabrana nahi hai."

Speaking of the time he slept on railway platforms, he said, "Jab main Ek bahot hi bure daur se guzar raha tha, railway platform par so raha tha. Toh mere dadaji ne kahaa tha ki beta haar matt maan na, kyunki bheega hua aadmi baarish se nahi darta."

He said that it is fine to be said, but always keep your dreams ahead of your sadness.

The actor ended his address to the youngsters with Sohan Lal Dwivedi's poem, Koshish Karne Valo Ki Haar Nahi Hoti.

After Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Anupam Kher shared another video on Instagram, where he broke down while speaking about the late actor. He wrote, "Very difficult to describe Sushant Singh Rajput's death in words! And yet this probably is one of my longest IGTV videos. It will take me a long time to understand the magnitude of sadness it must have caused everybody in these times (sic)."

Sushant's sudden death caused a wave of shock in Bollywood. It once again ignited the hot topics of nepotism and "Bollywood privilege club". Many Bollywood stars talked about their experiences in the industry and how it affected their career.
