Army Chief General Manoj Pande to deliver keynote address at strategic dialogue on China

Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Pande Monday (March 27) will deliver the keynote address in the inaugural session of the two-day strategic dialogue in Pune on the subject 'Rise of China and Its Implications for the World'.

New Delhi-based Centre for China Analysis and Strategy and the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS) of the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) are jointly organising the conference. It will include sessions on China's strategic agenda, the crisis in South China Sea and Taiwan and China's influence operations in India.

Among the speakers at the conclave are Jayadeva Ranade, president, Centre for China Analysis and Strategy; Gautam Bambawale, former Indian Ambassador to China, Pakistan and Bhutan; Air Marshal Bhushan Gokhale (Retd), former Vice Chief of the Air Staff; Dr Do Thanh Hai, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Vietnam in India; and Jim Wilson, Regional China Officer, US Embassy, Malaysia.

The Army chief will also attend the strategically significant India-Africa Army Chiefs Conclave on Tuesday and Wednesday in Pune. The conclave will include talks by renowned speakers on the India-Africa Defence partnership and the Indian defence industry's potential and contribution towards regional security.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend it as the chief guest. The concluding ceremony of the second edition of the Africa-India Field Training Exercise (AFINDEX 2023) will be held on Wednesday at the Foreign Training Node (FTN) of the Indian Army located at Aundh Military Station in the city.
