Kanpur violence: Police arrest accused builder Haji Wasi
The Kanpur Police has arrested another accused, Haji Wasi, in the Kanpur violence case. Builder Haji Wasi is one of the accused in funding the Kanpur violence that broke out on June 3.
As per police, Haji Wasi was the main financer of prime accused Zafar Hayat Hashmi. His son Rahman was already arrested by the Kanpur Police.
The SIT had earlier obtained Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) from the court against him and 18 other accused in the case.

The Kanpur administration had demolished one of the buildings of Haji Wasi after the violence.
Violent clashes and stone-pelting were witnessed in Kanpur on June 3 after a Muslim organisation had called to shut down shops at the Parade Market, one of the biggest wholesale markets in the city, over BJP leader Nupur Sharma's controversial comments about the Prophet Mohammed during a TV debate.
