MasterChef India has unveiled its Top 6, who will now compete for the Golden Chef's Coat and the coveted Trophy in ‘Finale Ki Journey’. From being the Top 36 to the Top 16 and now, the Top 6 – these finalists have time and again delivered on T.I.P – Taste, Innovation and Presentation. Their hard work and strong will have won them this spot through an arduous food adventure, supported and mentored by the Judges Trio – Chefs Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Garima Arora. MasterChef India's Top 6 are Santa Sarmah and Nayanjyoti Saikia from Assam, Gurkirat Singh from Haryana, Kamaldeep Kaur from Punjab, Suvarna Bagul from Maharashtra, and Aruna Vijay from Tamil Nadu.

Talking about the Top 6 contestants Chef Vikas Khanna said, "It is said that the way to people's hearts is through their stomachs. And at MasterChef India, these Top 6 home cooks have absorbed and applied all that they’ve learnt, which not only fills the stomach but also our hearts. Be it "Thecha Queen" Suvarna or "Punjabi Mumma" Kamaldeep Kaur, each of them is worthy of the spot that they have claimed."

Chef Ranveer Brar spoke of the Top 6 and their meritorious journey saying, “The Top 6 are in it to win it and each has stood for making food that defines them and their culture. Their hunger for learning has seen them evolve from amateur home cooks into chefs that will make us proud once they embark on their respective culinary journeys.”

Echoing the sentiments of her co-judges Chef Garima Arora said, "This is the most exciting time for viewers because we have our Top 6. Different regions of India have found representation in these home cooks who had the skill, they had the intention and that is why they are now in this race to the finale. Their journeys have been phenomenal, and I don’t believe worthier contestants could have claimed these spots.”

The upcoming week will see the home cooks try their best to remain in the competition and prove their mettle. Double trouble strikes in the very first round as the home cooks will be facing the "Party Platter Challenge" and the "6 Flavour Challenge". Next up on Tuesday, the challenges get tougher as the home cooks are asked to make Biryani in the "Biryani Challenge'' with ingredients like prawns or even jackfruit. Additionally, they would also have to face the "Smoothie Challenge" and create refreshing drinks for the judges. Moving on, Guest Chef Manish Mehrotra would be revealing mystery boxes containing unique ingredients like liquid nitrogen, a siphon gun, and more that they would have to use to prepare their dishes! If that was tough, it only gets harder! In the black apron challenge, home chefs will get ingredients that they will have to barter with each other to prepare their final dish.

Prior to the finale week, the home cooks spent a week in Dubai, where they were put through some gruelling and grilling cooking tasks. Apart from having fun, the home cooks had to face several challenges before they earned their spot in the Top 6.
