Rhea Chakraborty, Showik, 31 others named in NCB chargesheet in Sushant Singh Rajput drugs case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a 11,700-page chargesheet in the Sushant Singh Rajput drugs case on Friday. NCB submitted its charges against 33 accused persons at the NDPS sessions court, nearly a year after Sushant's death in June, 2020.

In the last week of August, NCB had filed an FIR in the case. The chargesheet had to be filed within 180 days of the FIR.

NCB has named Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant's house help and several drug peddlers in the case. It is also to be noted that during the course of the investigation, several people were questioned and summoned to the NCB office.

The chargesheet has been filed at NCB's NDPS sessions court, which is yet to take cognisance of the chargesheet. The chargesheet will also be given to the accused persons and the court will now give a hearing date in the matter after which, regular hearing will start.

The chargesheet is nearly 12,000 pages long in hard copy and about 40,000 pages in digital format that was submitted in the court on a CD.

About 200 witness statements have been included in the chargesheet, which states that the drugs tests of all the accused, from whom drugs recovery was made, have tested positive.

NCB claims incriminating evidences comprising digital evidences, call records have been submitted by the agency.
