Xiaomi launches new powerbank in India starting at ₹799; all you need know

Xiaomi’s Redmi launched two new devices in India. The first one is Redmi 8A Dual a smartphone with incremental updates to the Redmi 8A, and the second being an all new product category.

Xiaomi’s Redmi branded powerbanks will be available for the first time with its 10000mAh and 20000mAh units.

The new powerbanks are designed with an anti-slip material and also support fast charging. The bigger 20000mAh battery supports 18W charging while the smaller 10000mAh powerbank supports 10W charging.

Xiaomi has also given the powerbanks an edge over other products in the market. The user can change charging profiles on the Redmi powerbanks by double clicking the power button. The device will then enter a smart low power mode. This will help safely charge smaller devices like bluetooth earphones. The powerbank comes with a USB Type C port and also supports charging while being charged itself.

Xiaomi has priced the two powerbanks competitively. The 10000mAh powerbank is priced at 799 and the 20000mAh battery will cost 1,499. The powerbanks will be available from 18th February on and Mi stores. They will come to Amazon India soon after that.

The company also launched the Redmi 8A Dual at the launch event that was streamed live. The device comes with a new dual camera setup. Redmi 8A Dual comes with one 13MP primary camera and the other is a 2MP depth sensor. The depth sensor enables portrait mode on the primary camera. The front facing camera is an 8MP unit that also supports AI portrait mode. The device is powered by Snapdragon 439.

The price of the smartphone starts at 6,499 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant comes at a price of 6,999.

The smartphone will be available from 18th February on Amazon India’s website and both online Mi Stores at 12pm.
