Kanpur train derailment: Updates
In the early hours of Nov. 20, 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express train derailed near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, in northern India, killing over 120 people and injuring over 200, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI). Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha has said that a fracture in the rails and jamming of wheels is suspected to have caused the accident. Search and rescue operations are underway.
