Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra faced strong objections in Parliament on Tuesday for using an offensive word on the floor of the House. On Wednesday, she replied to a TMC supporter on Twitter who thanked her for "calling out" people in Parliament and said, "Deeply satisfying. Jaake boley tripti."

The TMC MP's rant was recorded on a microphone when she was speaking during TDP leader K Ram Mohan Naidu's address in the Lok Sabha.

Following the incident, BJP leaders slammed Mahua Moitra and demanded an apology from her. Senior BJP leader and Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi said, "I would ask them to apologise but if she doesn't, then it's their culture."

However, the TMC leader stood her ground and slammed the "patriarchal" comments against her. Slamming the BJP she said, "BJP is saying how can I use such a word being woman, do I need to be a man to be able to give it back as good as it gets? So there's patriarchy."

Meanwhile, speaking on the Adani issue, Mahua Moitra, during the 'Motion of Thanks to the President's Address', said a famous person whose name starts with 'A' and ends with 'I' has duped everyone. She also demanded an inquiry into the activities of the Adani Group and the allegations raised by Hindenburg Research.
