Anderson to Shami, OUT, AND HE GETS IT. Pitching at good length. Shami playing and missing. Gets bowled smashing middle stump clean out of the ground. James Anderson goes past Glenn McGrath to outright fourth highest wicket taker and the highest ever quick. Well-deserved for him he was unlucky to only get three after a monster opening stint yesterday with Broad. Well done to India who were spirited thanks entirely to Pant and Rahul. All eyes now on Cook who has played his last test and goes out with seventy-one and one hundred and forty-seven this test and is England’s greatest ever batsman, also captaining one of England’s best teams in recent years. England win the game by one hundred and eighteen runs and win the series four one. Four wins to one may seem harsh on India according to Kohli but although there were moments of brilliance there were long stretches of lack luster play and way too many silly mistakes.

Anderson to Rahul, no run, again Anderson good length at outside off and again a maiden from Anderson. Great session again from India with one hundred and thirty-one runs for no loss. Some dark clouds around The Oval which may come into effect later. Without weather, India would need one hundred and sixty-four runs to win only marginally more than they got in the previous two sessions but with the luxury of added time. England need five wickets which has been very achievable in this last session over this test and a new ball available soon. Amazingly, we could be in for an all-time classic finish as we pray for weather to cooperate.

Ali to Rahane, no run, pitching in line with off stump turning into the bat. Rahane works it off his pad into leg side safely. Well played with a lot of fielders around him. Early finish for the day with Jadeja getting through plenty of overs. Fittingly the headline is Cook getting one forty-seven in the last innings of a spectacular career. He also became the fifth highest run scorer of all time overtaking Sangakkara early in play. England would be disappointed with only getting three wickets from the last session thanks to stellar opening spells from Broad and Anderson – who joined Glenn McGrath on five hundred and sixty-three wickets. Rahane and especially Rahul did a great job to steady the innings but realistically England should’ve given India the full final session to bat through.
