The Chennai leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 playoffs came to an end with Mumbai Indians (MI) securing a berth in the second qualifier by defeating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). The action will now move to Ahmedabad, which will host the second qualifier, on May 26, and the final, on May 28.

As the teams, commentators and officials left Chennai, Harsha Bhogle raised eyebrows with his tweet. While he hailed the polite and welcoming Chennai crowd, Bhogle didn't seem to be impressed with fans at some other venues.

"Thank you Chennai. I met such polite and welcoming people. Such a stark and happy difference from the toxicity and personal abuse from a specific set of people in recent times," he wrote on Twitter. Bhogle didn't mention the people he was talking about.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the first team to book their berth in the final as the MS Dhoni-led side defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) in the first qualifier. There was hardly any support for GT at the MA Chidambaram Stadium and there were yellow shirts and flags all around the venue.

The crowd erupted when Dhoni came out to bat. The IPL legend didn't disappoint the fans after the game and said that he will take a call on his IPL future after 8-9 months.

The venue wasn't completely filled for the MI-LSG game but the fans did turn up in good numbers for the eliminator. Unsurprisingly, there was huge support for MI at the venue. MI and CSK share a long-standing rivalry.

The two teams have squared off in the IPL final four times. MI have a 3-1 lead over the Yellow Army in the summit clashes. Should the Rohit Sharma-led side defeat GT in the second qualifier, it will face the four-time IPL Champions in the final. CSK have won 4 IPL titles thus far.
