Team India captain Rohit Sharma gave an inspiring speech to his teammates in the dressing room after the Men in Blue defeated West Indies 1-4 in the five-match T20I series. On Sunday, August 7, India defeated the Caribbean team by 88 runs in Lauderhill and closed out their tour of the Island nation on a positive note.

After setting Nicholas Pooran's men a target of 189 to chase down, India bowled the home team out for 100 inside 20 overs. After the end of the match and the series, the Nagpur-born Rohit talked about teamwork and how efforts from all the members can result in big achievements.

"It takes a lot to change a game, it takes a lot to understand what a team requires every point in time. For me, individual brilliance is good, but those little efforts from all of us are what will give us more results, consistently. That is what we are looking for," Rohit was quoted as saying.

Rohit took over as India's T20I skipper after Virat Kohli stepped down following the T20 World Cup 2021 in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Later, the veteran also took over from Kohli as the ODI skipper of the national men's cricket team.

In his first series as the Indian skipper, Rohit led his team to victory against New Zealand. Recently, apart from getting the better of the West Indies, India also defeated England 2-1 in the latter's backyard.

Rohit is also the all-time leading run-scorer in the history of T20Is, having scored 3487 runs from 132 matches at an average of 32.28 with four centuries and 27 half-centuries to his name.
