Delhi: People chain cans as water crisis deepens, AAP govt blames Haryana

Amid an intense heatwave, Delhi is staring at water scarcity too. In many parts of Delhi, the water supply is affected as the water level in the Yamuna has depleted. The situation is such that people have chained their water cans to ensure that they do not get stolen. People are forced to rely on water tankers as well as water bores for potable water. Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain visited Wazirabad Barrage and has now blamed to Haryana government for failing to tackle the water crisis in the capital. According to government data, Delhi required 1,380 MGD of water in 2021, while the DJB could supply around 950 MGD.
