Lok Sabha election: EC removes Malda top cop appointed by West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

Three days before third phase of Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission removed West Bengal’s Malda district superintendent of police Arnab Ghosh. Baruipur SP Ajay Prasad has replaced Ghosh, who was appointed by West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee as Malda SP. EC took action after complaints were made against Ghosh of working on behest of Mamata government. Ghosh was also appointed by Mamata to be a part of SIT probing Saradha scam. The election in Malda district will take place on April 23.
