Nagaland firing: Locals hold candlelight vigil at Tizit village

There is palpable anger in Nagaland over the killing of civilians in a security operation by the army. After the victims were laid to rest, locals held a candlelight vigil at Tizit village. In an anti-insurgency operation in the Mon district of Nagaland, 13 civilians were killed in a case of “mistaken identity”. One Jawan was also killed during the incident. The army has instituted a court of inquiry on the firing. Home minister Amit Shah has expressed regret over the incident in Parliament.
