Nagpur: Sacked guards protest outside VNIT

About 140 security guards of the Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology who have been sacked some time back have been holding regular protests at the institute gate. On 19 October, the guards raised slogans against the institute director and clashed with the new guards. Some people belonging to Prashant Pawar’s Jai Jawan Jai Kisan organisation and the All India Students Federation joined the protesters. Some people also raised 'azadi' slogans and vandalised the outer wall. The sacked guards say that they have been made jobless since a new security agency was hired by the institute management.
