Summer Solstice 2021: Celebrating the longest summer day in the Northern Hemisphere

The Summer Solstice is marked every year on June 21. It is the longest day of the year and symbolically marks the beginning of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere and is often referred to as Midsummer. On June 21, the Sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer. For the Southern Hemisphere, the longest day of the year is marked on December 21. For the past few years, the day also coincides with International Yoga Day.
