Surat: Organiser arrested after Covid violations at bovine wedding
A newly married couple, a male calf and a female, was blessed by a large number of guests in Surat. The guests were seen playing drums after the marriage was solemnised at a tastefully decorated mandap. After the video went viral, a resident of Surat, Jayanti Malani was arrested. Jayanti was held for organizing the marriage function of calves in violation of Covid-19 guidelines. Four cops were also transferred for failing to stop the event. Apparently, the organizers had circulated invitation cards days before the function. A huge mandap was set up at the venue at the temple. Nearly 10 thousand people from city and rural areas of Surat had gathered.
