Ambala: Woman suspected to be drunk, rams SUV into a car from behind on NH-44, 1 killed

A man was killed while his wife and two daughters were injured in a fatal road crash on the National Highway (NH)-44 (GT Road) near Ambala Cantonment grain market on Saturday, after an SUV allegedly rammed a hatchback car from behind. The deceased has been identified as Mohit Sharma aged about 35 of Rajpur village in Palampur district of Himachal Pradesh. Those injured were identified as Mohit's wife Dipti, his daughters Arohi and Ashvi, who are out of danger, said the police. The incident happened near Ambala Cantonment market. On the complaint of Sharma’s wife, Ambala police booked a woman identified as Variyata Jaglan of Panipat. The woman was allegedly driving an SUV Range Rover in an inebriated condition. Another woman, Shreya of Panipat was accompanying Variyata Jaglan. Both the women in the SUV were arrested and presented before the court. Variyata Jaglan was sent to judicial custody.
