BJP vs BJP: Maharashtra vs Karnataka- will border row end?

The Karnataka-Maharashtra border row is simmering. Top leaders on both sides of the state border have appealed to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene. The issue picked up pace both inside Parliament and outside with protests by Uddhav's Shiv Sena, NCP MPs in Parliament and tensions rising on the border. The decades-old border dispute between both states flares up every time an election is around the corner or there's another hearing in court or due to political posturing. There is a history to the border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra, it dates back to the early 1950s. Karwar, Belagavi, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi of Karnataka, and Akkalkot, Jath, Solapur, and Pandharpur of Maharashtra are the disputed areas. It was in 1956 that violence over the border broke out for the first time ever between Karnataka and Maharashtra.
