Delhi: Street art honours scientists and mathematicians

When the second wave of Covid-19 gripped the capital city and the nation, everything came to a grinding halt. The North Delhi Municipal Corporation team arranged special permission for the Delhi Street Art team to start the wall art initiatives - this time on the boundary walls near Ramjas School, Pusa Road. Himanshu Gupta Deputy Commissioner of North Delhi Municipal Corporation was very keen to depict prominent Indian science technology and mathematics luminaries on the wall. Himanshu Gupta says " I want when school students and every Delhites pass this wall should remember ou great scientists and Mathematicians once, we never honour our great scientists so its a very small initiative to respect them that's why this wall called "Wall of Honour". The creative team of Delhi Street Art immediately got down to work and finished the wall murals in 3 days with a team of 8 artists and make "Wall of Honour". Following this an adjacent wall was designed as a tribute to the Covid heroes - doctors, nurses, police, cleaning crews, civil services and others.
