From Kangana Ranaut, Taapsee Pannu to Farhan Akhtar, Abhishek Bachchan, Bollywood praises weightlifter Mirabai Chanu for winning silver at Tokyo Olympics

India opened its medal account at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 on Saturday. Indian star weightlifter Mirabai Chanu created history by becoming the first Indian weightlifter to win the silver medal in women’s 49kg category at the ongoing Olympic Games. Well, as the nation is celebrating the proud moment and lauding Mirabai on her achievement, several B-Town celebs also took to their social media handles to appreciate the Olympic medal winner. Celebs including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu, among others congratulated the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee, Mirabai for her historic win. While in one of her Instagram posts, Taapsee Pannu wrote, 'Mirabai Chanu! Remember the name! Our first silver this Olympics! Go India!', she dropped a picture of Mirabai in the other one, and captioned it as, 'This name and face! We will celebrate for years to come! @mirabai_chanu'. Kareena Kapoor Khan also lauded Mirabai's win as she shared a picture of the Indian weightlifter and wrote 'Our first medalist is here! You have made India so proud'.
