Javed Akhtar defamation case: Warrant issued against Kangana Ranaut
Troubles don't seem to die down anytime soon for Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut! Now, Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Andheri issued a bailable warrant against actor Kangana Ranaut in a defamation case filed against her. She was asked to appear in court on March 1, 2021, in connection to the case that was filed by Javed Akhtar. In November 2020, the noted lyricist had filed a complaint against Kangana, post which the actress was asked to appear before the Andheri metropolitan magistrate. Javed Akhtar had alleged that Kangana had made defamatory comments against him in television interviews. Akhtar’s plea had said he was shocked when he learnt on July 19, Ranaut had given an interview to a news channel, damaging his 'immaculate reputation by falsely attributing statements to him.' The plea further stated that during the course of the interview, which lasted approximately 57 minutes, Ranaut proceeded to give her opinions on the circumstances around Rajput’s death without appearing to have any direct personal knowledge of these. The plea further said in the same interview she referred to Akhtar as being part of an alleged suicide gang. The complaint also mentioned that Kangana had falsely claimed that Akhtar threatened her to keep silent about her alleged relationship with actor Hrithik Roshan. Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Kangana Ranaut was snapped outside a gym. Post-workout, the actress was snapped in grey athleisure making her way to her car. Well, this is not the first time Kangana Ranaut is named in a controversy, the actress has faced multiple complaints and FIRs earlier too. Meanwhile, on the personal front, the actress is quite active on social media and is known to be bold and blunt when it comes to putting her views forward. Talking as per things on the work front, the actress has many movies lined up for her, including 'Tejas', Jayalalithaa's biopic 'Thalaivi', Indira Gandhi's untitled biopic, Dhaakad and more.
