Mumbai: Rising LPG prices crush household budgets

Prices for LPG gas cylinders in Mumbai have reached an all-time high at Rs 899.50 after an increase of Rs 15 per cylinder announce on October 6. LPG prices have already been hiked by Rs 90 in the first seven months of FY 2021. Also, when compared to a year ago, LPG prices have increased by a whopping Rs 304. In October 2021, the price effect has also increased subsidised LPG costs when compared to October 2020, when a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder cost Rs 594. Mumbaikars are upset over the huge increase in LPG prices, saying their household budget has shot through the roof, especially because prices of cooking oil and fuel have also increased massively in this period.
