Shivmogga News | Stabbed For Backing Savarkar ? | Karnataka News | Savarkar | English NewsTensions gripped Karnataka’s Shivamogga after a man, identified as 20-year-old Prem Singh, was stabbed by unidentified men after communal clashes over a poster of Hindutva ideologue Veer Savarkar in the district on Independence Day. According to the police, all four accused have now been arrested over the stabbing incident. Section 144 has been imposed in both Shivamogga and Bhadravathi. According to sources, the Karnataka Police shot the main accused in the stabbing case when he tried to attack the cops during his arrest. On August 15, right-wing groups put up a poster of Veer Savarkar at the Ameer Ahmed Circle in Shivamogga on Monday to which another group objected as they wanted to install Tipu Sultan’s flex there. Pro-Hindu groups then launched a protest when efforts were made to remove the poster. Police had to resort to mild lathi-charge to bring the situation under control and disperse the crowd.#shivamogga #karnataka #savarkar #tipusultan #englishnews
