US voters line up at dawn for early voting in New York

People in New York lined up to cast their ballots as early voting continued in the state on Monday 26 October. Many arrived at polling stations early in the morning, before they were even open. Early in-person voting began on Saturday in New York -- the first time it has been allowed in the state. Polling stations had huge lines on the weekend, amid concern about the reliability of postal voting in a state that sent as many as 100,000 absentee ballots out with the wrong names and addresses on them. The long lines on the weekend perhaps motivated others to turn out early on Monday to avoid having to wait hours to cast their ballots.
