Woman reveals what it's like to live on Norwegian island that won't see daylight for almost three months

Meet Cecilia Blomdahl. She lives in a cabin with her boyfriend and dog in Svalbard, a Norwegian island close to the North Pole, that won't see sunlight for two and a half months during the Polar Night season. In this cool video showcasing her unique living situation, Cecilia tours the main street in her village Longyearbyen where 2,300 people live, and her cabin, which doesn't have any running water but does have a beautiful view of seven glaciers. "This time of year, we have the beautiful northern lights showing up. We also have polar bears on our island," Cecilia says while showcasing possible polar bear tracks. When speaking with Newsflare, she said: "I live in a cabin on Svalbard, an island close to the North Pole. Right now, we are in the middle of the Polar Night. My cabin is outside the village, so I need to carry a gun every time I go outside to protect myself from polar bears. I'm originally from Sweden and have lived here for five years." Cecilia has over 75,500 followers on TikTok (@sejsejlija), where she shares what life is like when you live on an island with no sun for over two months.
